Saul Bass was a graphic designer who worked for some of the greatest film directors - and made some of the greatest opening title sequences. The video was put together by Ian Albinson, in celebration of the newly released book, Saul Bass: A Life in Film & Design.
Fun fact: Bass is also famous for creating both the Continental Airlines “jetstream” logo, and the AT&T “globe” logo. The website Logo Design Love posted a neat list of Bass’s old logos paired up with their modern revisions, which you can see here.
